The Lens

In addition to managing art Assets on Lens, I was also heavily involved in the design and modeling of the Lens itself.  If you'd like to see more about the actual design process, I did a few posts on the Lens blog about it.

The Lens is made up of 3 models: the "Fins" that form the sphere, the Rim that connects them and bounds everything, and finally the Alternate Rim, which can be seen only in the other world.  Shown below is open "Pull Mode" where the Lens can look into the other world and pull objects out of it.  Below that is the Lens in Idle mode, where the Rim components fold away and the fins form a sphere.
